SECTION THREE
Prompt Playground
Write smarter prompts. Get better results.
-
The more details you give, the better the output. Instead of saying “Write a caption,” try something like: “Write a playful Instagram caption about eco-friendly packaging for my handmade soap brand.” That little bit of context helps the AI tailor the result to your voice, audience, and goals. Think about what you’d say to a human assistant—then type that.
Here are a few example of short & specific prompts:
Write a caption for Instagram promoting my new group coaching program for career changers.”
“Give me five blog title ideas about stress-free bookkeeping for solopreneurs.”
“Summarize this podcast episode in 3 short bullet points I can share on LinkedIn.”
“Help me write an email inviting my email list to a free Canva workshop.”
“Create a short FAQ section for my digital planner download.”
-
AI can shift how it speaks, but only if you tell it how you want to sound. Words like casual, professional, fun, bold, elegant, smart, or playful are all helpful clues. If you’re not sure what your brand’s tone is, think about how you want people to feel when they interact with your business. Relaxed? Inspired? Informed? Use that as your direction.
Add simple tone directions like:
“Make it sound confident and kind, like I’m talking to a client.”
“Write this in a casual, friendly tone—like we’re chatting over coffee.”
“Keep it short and bold, like an ad.”
“Use a professional tone, but not too stiff.”
“Make it sound fun and slightly cheeky—my brand is playful but smart.”
-
You don’t have to reinvent the wheel. If there’s a line you love from your website, or a sentence that sounds just right, paste it into your prompt and say, “Match this tone.” AI learns by patterns, so the more examples you give, the closer it’ll get to your unique voice. Think of it like setting the vibe for the room before your assistant walks in.
Guide AI by sharing a style sample and giving direction:
“Here’s how I usually talk to my audience: ‘Let’s simplify this whole process together.’ Use a similar tone in this caption.”
“My About page starts with: ‘I’m here to help you get out of overwhelm and into action.’ Match that voice in this welcome email.”
“This is my brand voice: relaxed but confident. Use that to write a product description for my digital planner.”
“Here’s a sentence I love: ‘Your time is valuable—let’s make it count.’ Keep that energy in this post.”
“My brand vibe is warm and encouraging, like a supportive friend. Use that to rewrite this paragraph.”
-
One of the biggest mistakes beginners make? Thinking they have to get the perfect prompt on the first try. But here’s the secret: you don’t. ChatGPT is a conversation—just like texting a super smart assistant. If the first answer isn’t quite right, just respond with what you’d like changed. You can say things like:
“Can you make this shorter?”
“Try again with a more playful tone.”
“Add a call to action at the end.”
“Summarize this in bullet points.”
You’re allowed to go back and forth! The best results often come after 2–3 tweaks, not just one-and-done. So treat it like a collaboration, not a vending machine.
Context + Task + Tone
That is the most basic formula for the perfect prompt. This tells the AI who you are, what you want, and how you want it to sound. You don’t have to be perfect, just specific. Swipe these examples below and try them in ChatGPT. Once it responds, keep the conversation going until it’s perfect! You can ask for revisions, different versions, and refresh some of the touch points covered above.
Here are a few swipe-able prompt starters you can copy, paste, and tweak:
-
I run a [type of business]. Write a friendly Instagram caption promoting [product or offer].
-
Help me outline a blog post about [topic]. Make it educational but casual.
-
Write a welcome email for my new subscriber. I want it to sound [tone/style].
-
Turn this messy paragraph into a professional LinkedIn post: “[paste text]”
-
I’m launching [product]. Give me 3 short content ideas to generate buzz.
-
Create a checklist for my clients to prepare for [event or service].
